I acquired this piece from an old hippie out in the middle of the forest in northern California.. He made quite a bit of money back in the day in the canvas industry.. Long story short he provided all the canvas to artist that were commissioned by Bill Graham to do " ambient artwork " for his shows. That would be the artwork that was hung from scaffolding or speaker stacks on either side of the stage at concerts.. This was one of the pieces that was used in the early to mid nineties at Bill Graham concerts around the bay area then gifted to this old hippie that provided the canvas. It had been hanging in his workshop for quite a long time until He decided to move to Tennessee and sell all his stuff. This was one of the pieces that I purchased from him. I actually did talk to the art manager that worked for bill Graham And he recognized the piece and the grommets in particular Because all the pieces were custom ordered with grommets so they could be hung from scaffolding Which is different because most canvas is framed with wood. It measures approximately 58" tall by 55" wide. Signed w.g. Manley 1992.. I've tried to get in touch with the artist with no luck.. Anyways I'm ready to move this piece along for the next person to enjoy.
